Education Rooted in Love
Legends Public Charter School is dedicated to providing tuition-free, culturally-responsive, excellent K-8 education to scholars in Prince George's County who have been historically underserved. We center joy, love, and community -- because every scholar deserves to thrive.
August 2020
From Vision to Reality
Legends Public Charter School opened its doors with Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Our founding vision was clear: every scholar deserves two certified educators in their classroom, real-time differentiation, and education rooted in love. We started small, but our ambition was boundless.
2021 -- 2026
Grade-by-Grade, Heart by Heart
Year by year, we expanded grade levels while maintaining our commitment to the two-adult classroom model. Families and educators chose Legends because we do the hard work of differentiation and support in real-time. Today we serve over 900 scholars across all K-8 grades, with 24 AmeriCorps Legends Fellows bringing energy and passion to our classrooms.

Legends is more than a school -- it is a movement rooted in Prince George's County. We hire local educators who know our neighborhoods, celebrate our families' cultures and languages, and build partnerships with organizations that share our mission. Our scholars and their families deserve excellence, and we are just getting started.
