Our Story

A Celebration to Remember

This year, we proudly celebrate the 6th Charter Day of Legends Charter School, honoring our remarkable journey and the impact we've made on more than 900 scholars in Prince George's County.

From our founding in 2020, Legends has been rooted in a singular belief: that every scholar deserves rigorous, joyful, and culturally responsive education. Today, our community spans families, educators, partners, and advocates united in the mission to create pathways to excellence and equity.

Charter Day is more than a gala. It's a moment to gather, reflect on how far we've come, and recommit to the work ahead. It's a celebration of the educators who show up every day with courage and care. And it's an opportunity for leaders, organizations, and individuals to join us as partners in liberation.

Our Approach

Partnership Philosophy

We don't approach sponsorship as a transaction. We see it as an invitation to join our movement. Whether you're a foundation, a corporation, a family, or an individual, your partnership signals your commitment to educational equity and to the scholars of Legends.

Investing in people, not just programs.

When you sponsor an award, you're honoring an educator and celebrating their craft. When you buy a table, you're bringing your community to witness excellence. When you sponsor a teacher's ticket, you're saying to an educator: "Your work matters. You deserve a seat at the table."

Our partnerships fund specific, meaningful work: teacher professional development, curriculum innovation, family engagement programs, and the operational excellence that makes our mission possible.

Who We Are

About Legends Charter School

Legends Public Charter School was founded in 2020 by Equity Now, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to advancing educational equity. We serve scholars in grades K-8 across Prince George's County, Maryland.

Our mission is clear: to develop scholars who think critically, lead boldly, and transform their communities. We do this through rigorous academics, cultural responsiveness, and a two-adult classroom model that allows us to differentiate instruction and personalize support for every child.

Today, more than 900 scholars call Legends home. Our families represent incredible diversity. Our educators bring deep expertise and profound commitment. And our partners—foundations, corporations, and individuals—believe in our vision of what's possible when schools are designed for excellence and equity.

Charter Day celebrates this community and invites you to join it.
